Popular halal Caribbean spot opens location Downtown

One of the more popular Caribbean spots in the GTA has finally decided to open a location Downtown. Scotty Bons Caribbean Grill, named after the Scotch bonnet pepper that is a staple in their cooking, opened up a new storefront in the Annex at 402 Bloor Street West.

After opening their original Scarborough location in 2018, they expanded to Brampton last year and now will be opening their third location Downtown. Owner Kendell Garcia wanted to bring his Caribbean flavours to the region and the whole menu is certified halal.

They have an expansive menu that includes rice bowls, rotis and sandwiches. You can choose from various meats and veggies, such as jerk chicken, BBQ chicken, curry goat, cajun fish, oxtail and more. The option to customize your meal is what set this establishment apart in the beginning, growing a loyal following from the start.

The Annex location is now open but official hours are still changing. They’re currently doing takeout and delivery only through Uber Eats.
