Reverie Deli: Sweet sensations from Toronto's finest new home bakery

One cannot go wrong with desserts, and with all these places in Toronto popping up it's hard to make a decision–– until now.

Mimi Ashurov, the baker behind Reverie Deli, goes above and beyond with her flavour pairings, so you are bound to find the perfect one for you. Her flavour combinations go further than your classic cakes, such as her orange and lemon cheesecake with a biscoff crust, tangy orange blossom water topping and spiced citrus zest caram. Or a her spin on a classic vanilla bean honey cake with 10 layers of caramelized honey pastry soaked and filled with a tangy sour cream and vanilla bean frost, decorated with crumbs, honey, honeycomb, pollen and maldon salt.

All her desserts are drool-worthy. How could you resist a cake made from two layers of a lemony ricotta sponge, with a peach slice and curd filled centre, frosted with a honey orange blossom water cream cheese and labneh buttercream? Not sold yet? Cakes can come topped with crumbs of cashews and candied ginger n orange zest, sesame clusters, orange pulp and pools of peach curd. If that cake doesn't scream perfection I don't know what will.

Not only is Ashurov filling our stomachs with delicious desserts, but over time she has donated a portion of her sales to the COVID-19 Sex Worker Emergency Support Fund. Her goal is to go beyond cakes, but to highlight and make a difference for an organization that doesn't get the publicity that it deserves.

Be sure to checkout Ashurov and all her creations on Instagram before placing your order. You definitely won't be disappointed. Pickup is at Lisgar Park so you can dine in the park with your delicious desserts.
