March Break is coming up and if you're looking for something to do with family and friends, you can check out Sugar Shack TO down by Sugar Beach (11 Dockside Drive, Lower Jarvis & Queens Quay) from March 14-15.

The event is now celebrating their fifth year and will be showcasing all things maple so if you're looking to indulge in sweet treats and partake in fun activities it's the perfect time to visit. The event is free to the public and is also dog friendly -- they just ask that you keep them on a leash.

This year they'll have two sugar shacks serving fresh Ontario maple taffy ($3 a taffy or $5 for two, cash only), maple syrup samples from Muskoka Lodge, sweet treats from Redpath Sugar and giveaways from Waterfront Toronto -- all surrounded by roaring fire pits to keep you warm.

To further underline the maple theme, there will also be plenty of food vendors showcasing their maple-inspired menus such as Beavertails (maple pecan tails), Heirloom (maple Szechuan fried chicken sandwiches), All You Knead Bakery (maple glazed doughnuts and maple filled cookies), Get Your Own Taters (maple buffalo tater tot poutine) and more.

After you've finished trying all the offerings, you can enjoy activities like Plinko and snowball toss, as well as entertainment from the Great Canadian Fiddle Show and the Mark LaForme Band.

The event goes from 11 am-5 pm on both days and is accessible by public transit, on foot or by car (but parking is limited so plan accordingly).
