Taco Beach just opened up on the Ossington strip

Our summer may not have been filled with quite as many beach days and outdoor parties as we had anticipated, but luckily, there's a new patio and taco joint bringing the beach vibes to the city -- or to be more specific, the Ossington strip.

The Last Resort, an outdoor space and bottle shop, has teamed up with their next-door neighbour Dynasty plant shop to create the ultimate summer patio experience. They also snagged Jonathan Poon from Favorites Thai across the street to get in on their menu plan, and Taco Beach was the result. They're now serving up mouthwatering ceviches, tacos, quesadillas and chips, as well as frosty cocktails and unique bottles of wine. They opened this past weekend and it was a smashing success, drawing in crowds to bask in the plant-adorned patio space and taste a few of their delicious offerings. The simple, flavourful food combined with the easygoing atmosphere make for an ideal after-work drink or weekend hangout spot.

Tortilla chips are made fresh and served with pico de gallo or a juicy shrimp and scallop ceviche, and main dishes include cheese- and meat-stuffed corn tortillas from Good Hombres garnished with flavourful sauces and salsas. To drink, they offer daily slushies inspired by classic drinks like margarita and Negroni, plus wine and beer to be enjoyed on the patio or brought home. Everything is ultra-fresh, delicious and perfect for noshing with friends on a summer evening.

Taco Beach is currently open from Wednesday to Friday from 5-10 p.m. and on weekends from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. Make sure to drop by for tacos and drinks this weekend, and don't forget to peruse the plant selection from Dynasty on your way out!
