There's an Oliver & Bonacini run restaurant inside the new Second City

If you're looking for comedy and good eats, you'll find both at the sprawling new 28,700-square-foot Second City Toronto location on the third floor at One York Street!

The Second City's new flagship location is its largest, most state-of-the-art venue since the comedy company first opened its doors in Canada in 1973, and it features a full-service restaurant and bar with food by Canadian hospitality leaders Oliver & Bonacini (O&B).

Chef Michael Robertson is O&B's Corporate Events Chef who is overseeing the project, which in its current iteration is an à la carte menu with small plates, large plates, burgers, sandwiches and sweets.

For small plates, guests will find simple options like caesar salad, avocado & chips and truffle or medium-cut fries with ketchup. The empanadas are a small plate highlight - the dish comes with two spinach & peas, or reuben, empanadas.

In terms of large plates, you can choose from a plate of crispy chicken fingers and fries with Nashville hot sauce and creamy coleslaw, or a veggie poke bowl.

Three burgers and sandwiches are also available: the andouille sausage hoagie with caramelized onion and grainy mustard, the spicy crispy chicken sandwich with Buffalo hot sauce, and the swanky smash burger with double beef patties.

And for dessert, churros or an almond chocolate Häagen-Dazs bar are up for grabs.

Notably, Sunday afternoons feature an Improv Brunch show with food and mimosas available to order separately from the ticket price.

Dinner and show packages are also in the works.

Both Second City and O&B are iconic in Toronto for their respective leadership in the comedy and restaurant communities.

The new Second City location officially opened on November 30, 2022, with its first performances beginning December 1, 2022. It contains three theatres and nine Training Centre studios for student classes and partner workshops.

O&B is owned by founders Peter Oliver and Michael Bonacini, who first began their partnership in 1993 with the opening of Jump. Today, O&B operates in nearly 40 restaurants and event venues in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and beyond.
