Toronto chef launches online Asian grocery concept

There’s a new online Asian grocery concept from local Toronto chef Ken Yau.

After having recently launched k.Dinners and k.Dumps, chef Yau, is at it again with his new grocery concept. k.Market is his new online grocer concept that allows patrons to find new pantry items, sweets and even more quick meal ideas. Just like his other projects, k.Dinners and k.Dumps, everything is handmade and inspired by Yau’s childhood traditions.

Chef Yau began his career in Toronto, notably as a chef for Scaramouche and Nota Bene. He is most famously associated with three-Michelin star restaurant, The Fat Duck, which he worked at in the UK and helped launch in Melbourne, Australia. After returning home and launching k.Dinners, the pandemic forced him to pivot, which led to k.Dumps and eventually, k.Market.

For the launch of his new market, they will have various specials, including Papa Yau’s Fried Rice, which comes in chicken or a vegan shiitake version. He’ll be selling popular pantry items that include his “Yau’s Everything Sauce” and “Everything Seasoning.”

You can find select k.Market items in specialty locations across the city or you can order direct from their website, where delivery is offered to a wide region in Toronto. All deliveries are made on Sundays between 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., but be sure to order before 11:59 p.m. Friday to ensure it arrives for that weekend.
