Toronto restaurant featuring different chefs, sharing exclusive dinner menus

SARA Restaurant has launched a bi-weekly event that features a prix fixe menu from a rotating list of Toronto’s best chefs.

The featured event, titled ‘You, Me + SARA’, will take place every other weekend with a rotating list of chefs, who will be serving up a chef-curated menu to take home. This upcoming weekend, SARA is bringing in Jeff Lapointe––the accredited chef at SOHO House and soon-to-be executive chef at Vela.

If enjoying a delicious, one-of-a-kind meal isn’t enough, SARA has also partnered with the Seeds of Hope Foundation––creating an incentive that for every meal sold as a part of the event, SARA will provide a meal to the organization.

Jeff Lapoint, You Me SARA

On the menu for Lapointe’s feature is a full-course dinner that is said to be a nostalgic, homely meal that is meant to “provide comfort”. To achieve this, he’s whipping up his own takes on his personal childhood favourites, beginning with Mom’s Tuna Sandwich, made with albacore tuna, pickled mustard seeds, celery, black olives, dill and hickory sticks.

Eat Your Damn Greens involves broccoli florets, grilled broccoli stems, white beans, nduja mayo, boquerone, parmesan, crispy farro and aromatics. The third course, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Foie, mimics the classy Foie Gras using plant-based ingredients.

Cooped Up incorporates beautifully cooked chicken on a bed of roasted mushrooms and truffle, floating in a pool of polenta with taleggio.

The fifth and final course, Put the Lime in the Coconut and Call Me in the Morning, is a decadent dessert made with coconut, lime curd and buttercream.

You Me SARA

To wash it all down, Lapointe is also serving up a Donut Shop Old Fashioned, made with bourbon, maple, cinnamon and orange.

You, Me + SARA will continue every other weekend and will feature a new chef every time. The initiative originally launched mid last month with chef Mary Dinh, the head chef at SARA. Lapointe will be their second featured chef.

Lapointe’s menu is available for parties of one or two people and costs $60 per person. You can make pre orders for next weekend (March 13 to 14) through their website for pickup, or for delivery through Tock.
