Toronto's go-to summer spot for backyard burgers won't be opening this year

Madame Boeuf and Flea, one of the city's top spots for backyard burgers, won't be opening this year.

Normally a seasonal venture that opens over the summer, chef and owner Anthony Rose announced via an Instagram post earlier today that the outdoor space won't be operating due to an inability to safely accommodate guests and provide them with the same lively experience of dining with them, like they had in the past.

The colourful spot is also known for its family-friendly environment that turns into a flea market once a month. A barbecue menu of burgers like their popular Banquet Burger can be found with sides like crinkle cut fries, cheese fries and onion rings, as well as both boozy frozé slushies with a rosé base for the adults and non-boozy slushies for the kids.

Though Madame Boeuf and Flea is set to remain closed for this summer, other restaurants owned by chef Anthony Rose like Fet Zun, Fat Pasha and Big Crow BBQ Rose and Sons will be operating their patios.
