Venice Beach Bar is bringing California vibes to Toronto

This new Toronto beach bar will have you California dreamin' all summer long.

Venice Beach Bar is the latest collaboration between Bar Mordecai and Unboxed Market. The former storage lot tucked away on Dundas West, now boasts a paradise getaway inspired by the relaxed and casual surf shacks of Southern California.

"We always wanted to see the lot become a place where the neighbourhood could gather," said Michelle Genttner of Unboxed Market. "When Covid-19 hit, we knew that outdoor spaces would be the primary social spaces for our community at least for the summer, and we thought the lot would be a perfect way to offer a little slice of that vacation feeling for those who can't get out of the city."

The beach bar will be serving up California inspired eats including crab rolls, jerk chicken sandwiches and bacon-wrapped hotdogs. There are also several vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options on the menu such as chimichurri cauliflower, a portobello burger and tofu satay.
