To celebrate the Toronto Caribbean Festival, the brand with the three stripes is coming together with the patty with the four corners for a special collaborative pop-up that highlights the taste of the islands with a unique sportswear spin.
The three-day celebration will take place from Friday to Sunday at the JunePlum by Patois store located at 796 Dundas St. W.
Guests will get to savour an exclusive patty box featuring limited-edition flavours crafted especially for the event. Each box will contain two of each flavour for a total of four, creating a wonderful medley of flavours that will leave your palate yearning for more.

KFC recently launched its new seasoned fries, after receiving criticism from Canadians over the old recipe. This is the first time the brand has ever revamped its original French fry recipe. This Thursday, August 3rd, spend a splendid evening sampling an abundance of wines, sans ill effects, on Lavelle's glorious rooftop. Presented by Sansorium, a marketplace for non-alcoholic beverages, the event will highlight award-winning, non-alcoholic wines from Edenvale. Founded in Australia in 2006, Edenvale produces a range of premium, alcohol-removed wines. Daily Blends will be unlocking their smart fridges at three locations in the GTA during National Farmers' Market Week (Aug.6 to Aug. 12), offering Torontonians the opportunity to savour high quality, healthy food for free. Developed by sisters Shriya and Purva Gupta, Daily Blends smart fridges are high-end mobile cafes stocked with chef-crafted grab-and-go meals made with the highest quality natural ingredients from local farmers at an average price of $6. More Natas Please is a new bakery serving authentic Portuguese pastéis de nata at 762 Yonge St. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., this spot sells five variations of the traditional custard tart, including a Nutella, raspberry, almond and vegan option. The pastéis de nata are sold by the half dozen for $25 and follow a recipe that was used by monks in the 18th century.
Basil Box, a familiar brand for build-your-own healthy Thai-inspired bowls and salads, has opened a new location inside the Toronto General Hospital. Found in the food court of the hospital at 200 Elizabeth St., the new location is offering 20 per cent off of all boxes until July 28 to mark the grand opening. The addition of Basil Box adds another healthier option for those who work or visit the hospital.
Looking for a cute new coffee shop? Butter & Blue is a new bakery and cafe located at 7 Baldwin St. All of the baked goods are baked on site daily, and include a mix of sweet and savoury items, like mini pizza buns and cheddar and scallion biscuits, and coffee cat-shaped shortbread cookies and Earl Grey blondies. Butter & Blue also serves a selection of teas and espresso-based beverages, and is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Canadians on the east coast can now enjoy the taste of Fat Bastard Burrito, after the chain officially opened a new location in St. John’s, Nfld. Located at 336 Water St., just minutes from the famous screeching-in spot that is Christian’s Pub, the new location includes an eye-catching fish-themed mural on the outer brick exterior. All your favourite burritos and sides remain. The new spot is open Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 to 3 a.m.
Neighbourhood Italian wine bar and restaurant Bar Vendetta recently launched a series of happy hour specials. From 5 to 6 p.m. daily, patrons can enjoy select wines by the glass, cocktails and light bites like cheesy pull-apart garlic bread and saucy meatballs. All drinks and food items are just $10. Bar Vendetta’s is located at 928 Dundas St. W. and regular hours are from 5 to 10:30 p.m. daily.
Nugateau, Queen Street West's preeminent place for flavourful, ornate eclairs, is moving on to bigger and better things. Earlier this month, the French patisserie announced the closure of its current location as it moves to a larger space (just a few doors down) at 709 Queen Street West. With the move, the team will be able to prepare "a whole new level of delights," according to an Instagram post. Though eclairs will still star on the menu, new offerings will include sweet and savoury pastries, viennoiseries, macarons, cakes, and more.
