Burger Drops and Aloette collaborate on the ultimate burger for one night only

Next Thursday, you’ll be able to get your hands on a special collab burger created by the legendary burger chefs at Burger Drops and Aloette.

The one-night-only, “never-before-eaten” menu will be served at the Give Me Liberty Street Festival, an annual street party hosted every June by the Liberty Village BIA to “celebrate all things Liberty Village,” including, of course, the wonderful food vendors in the area.

It just so happens that Liberty Village is home to two of Toronto's most sought-after burgers, including Burger Drops’ “The Drop Shop” and the second location of Aloette, which joined the neighbourhood just June of last year. Instead of highlighting their own burgers for the festival, the two restaurants decided to bring their talents together to create something different just for the day.

Before he opened Toronto’s most talked-about smash burger joint, Burger Drops owner and founder Greg Bourolias was working as sous-chef at Aloette. This collaboration between Bourolias and Sol Mason, Executive Chef at Aloette, will be a very special reunion for the two burger geniuses.

“We're bringing together what Burger Drops and Aloette do best with the intention to create food that's playful and exciting for our community,” says Kat Gaskin, Director of Branding & Community at Burger Drops.

Headlining this collaborative menu is The Liberty Burger: a 5.5-oz. Ontario beef patty sandwiched between two sides of a potato roll, griddled onions, ketchup relish, shredded lettuce and, of course, a slice of fried crispy cheddar cheese inspired by the Aloette burger.

To accompany your Liberty Burger, Bourolias and Mason have also crafted a list of equally tasty sides, like their Smoky Crinkle Fries with smoked salt and spicy garlic mayo.

Giving us refreshing summer vibes, the Watermelon Salad is topped with feta cheese, jalapeño relish, and fresh mint.

Last but not least, the Strawberry Cheesecake Pudding: another perfect festival treat made with fresh strawberries, vanilla cream, and brown butter cereal crumb.

Join the celebration next Thursday, June 23 at the Give Me Liberty Street Festival on Fraser Avenue from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Burger Drops and Aloette will have their shop set up inside The Beer Garden, where their fantastic menu awaits.
