Check out Toronto's newest Italian restaurant for simple, elegant dining

Looking for fresh, traditional and delicious Italian dishes? Quadro Ristorante is sure to please.

Quadro is a new Italian restaurant that makes light and simple pastas, pizza and salads. Their pizzas are made using an authentic Italian pizza oven and their wine list consists of 15 white varietals and about 30 red options––all Italian of course. Their cocktails are also all Italian centric, meaning they are made using traditional Italian spirits like Amaro and Aperol. Some of their most popular dishes include the Zucchini fritte, Caprese salad, Cacio e pepe pasta and the Burrata pizza Bianca.

The owners, Tony Longo and Joe Mimran, collaborated over a year ago with the intention of putting love and attention into a restaurant brand that hits all markets and is able to pivot regardless of the current social and financial climate.

If Mimran sounds familiar, that's because you've probably seen him amongst the panel of investors on season 10 of Dragons' Den. On the other hand, Longo has spent years in both the food and beverage, as well as the entertainment industry. In the past, he has owned numerous restaurants and worked at Ink Entertainment, which is known for opening restaurants like Amal, Sofia, Byblos and so on.

With a love for the Italian food market, they chose to open Quadro in the heart of Little Italy. They took over the property in February and began renovations in order to develop what Longo describes as "a quaint and comfortable indoor setting," featuring "a back terrace with vines, palm trees, umbrellas and canopies, a comfortable space yet you wouldn't know that you are on College Street."

For the name, they were inspired by the four-sided geometry of a pizza box. When checking the originality of the name, they noticed that no other restaurant was using that name, so now they are the only Quadro Ristorante in the world.

Their vision is to maintain the same taste and feel of Quadro by expanding into several locations across Toronto, while also eventually making their way into the retail food market.

From the beautiful atmosphere and great service, to the amazing food and drinks, Quadro is a must-visit this summer. Quadro is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and is located at 577 College Street.
