Bring home chef-grade groceries at Pasta Forever’s farmers’ market popup

This Saturday, Pasta Forever will be hosting a farmers’ market popup outside their Italian pantry and takeout counter in Little Portugal. They’ll also be offering a range of delicious dips to pair with the amazing fresh fruits and veggies at the market.

The one-day, miniature farmers’ market will showcase the seasonal vegetables grown by Chef Mark Redman of Midfield Wine Bar as well as picture-perfect rare fruits from Muddy Crops.

“Mark was my old chef and he started a farm in COVID to supply restaurants with his vegetables,” explains Jess Maiorano, owner and chef at Pasta Forever. “I had some at Sakai Bar and fell in love!”

Redman started his quarter-acre Little Wolf Farm in Campbellville, Ontario over the spring of 2021. His nutrient-dense vegetables are all grown naturally with compost just 50 km away from his restaurant, Midfield Wine Bar, where he occasionally hosts Farm Stands to showcase and sell his fresh harvests.

Also coming to Pasta Forever’s farmers’ market is Muddy Crops, an Ontario-based company that delivers farm-fresh fruits right to your door. Selling only vine- and tree-ripened fruit, Muddy Crops is known for sourcing flavourful and nutrient-rich rare fruits from over ten different fruit farms in Ontario.

“I’ve had insanely amazing fruit from Muddy Crops and just love their products,” says Maiorano.

For her part, Maiorano will be whipping up a range of unique dips for you to take home with your fresh groceries, including Dandelion Pesto, Basil Pesto, Bagna Cauda, and Artichoke.

Fill your fridge this Saturday, July 30 with some amazing fruits from Muddy Crop, veggies from Little Wolf Farm, and house-made dips by Pasta Forever. The farmers’ market will be set up at 10 a.m., right outside Pasta Forever on 1693 Dundas St. W.
