Creek Coffee & Co. opens in Highland Creek Village

Highland Creek Village has a new, relaxing and trendy coffee spot called Creek Coffee & Co.

The founders noticed that the area was missing a place where people could relax, drink coffee and even study. So in order to further build on the great neighbourhood and community aspect of Highland Creek, a suburb within Scarborough, Creek Coffee & Co. was born.

They only opened a few weeks ago, but their frappuccinos, and matcha and Americano lattes are already big hits.

The name itself reflects the store's location, as well as the calming environment within the store. The shop is filled with matte green and earthy tones, and reclaimed barn wood in order to create a feeling of "hominess and comfort."

Although they were supposed to open in March or April, preparations were pushed back as a result of the COVID-19. The pandemic also meant that they had to shift their intended "sit, enjoy and have a coffee" business model to more of a  "grab and go" service. However, they have adjusted in fun and creative ways––for instance, the shop sells on-the-go cereal bowls.

Once regulations are lifted, they plan on becoming a go-to spot for people to hang out and enjoy themselves while staying caffeinated. This is especially great news for students at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus, due to its close proximity. Other future plans include adding a nitro cold brew to the menu, as well as other diverse food and beverage features.

Located at 370 Old Kingston Road, Creek Coffee & Co. just recently extended their hours, so they are now open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
