Experience charcuterie on the water with a guided paddle tour from Cheese Boutique

After putting plans on hold due to COVID, Cheese Boutique is finally ready to kick off their first-ever “CharcuTOURie”—a series of guided paddle tours where kayakers get to enjoy premium charcuterie platters right on the water.

The intimate series will take place over three dates in August, each with a maximum of only six people per outing. Every tour offers a unique experience of Toronto from the waters with a different charcuterie presentation to match the atmosphere.

“It’s an exclusive and intimate adventure,” says Alex Eidelman, a long-time member of the Cheese Boutique family. “For many urbanites, this little escape can feel like a surprising drive up north—one you never knew existed in your backyard.”

As a foodie kayaker himself, Eidelman wanted to bring his personal experiences to more people as a part of Cheese Boutique’s unique offerings.

“I’ve been paddling the Humber before and after work, taking friends out for years—the river’s literally in our backyard. Being part of Cheese Boutique, I’d always bring fun, exclusive foods to entertain for snacks,” says Eidelman. “With some dust settled in our new reality, it felt like a good moment to put out this series for our customers to explore a side of Toronto seen only from the water.”

Along with team member Reagan Armitage, Eidelman will be guiding fellow foodie kayakers along Toronto’s shores and curating special platters for the perfect experience on the water.

The first part of the series, “Island Breakfast,” will be an early morning launch from Cherry Beach with a breakfast Continental Charcuterie Platter and Fruits, including a 25-year-old strawberry-infused balsamic vinegar.

Their next two dates will take paddlers through calmer Toronto waters in the nighttime. One of the tours will take place under a full moon with Sturgeon Caviar and other accompaniments, and the other will be a sunset-themed paddle with cheese, charcuterie skewers, and dessert.

Anyone who knows paddling basics is welcome to join Cheese Boutique’s unique “CharcuTOURie” experience by getting tickets from their Events page. The three-date tour will take place on August 2, 12, and 23. While you’re encouraged to “bring your own boat,” Cheese Boutique has partnered with The Complete Paddler for those who would like to rent.
