French-Italian restaurant serving regional cuisine opens in Midtown

A few weeks ago, Domaine MaMo popped up in the heart of Mount Pleasant Village, serving dishes inspired by the Maritime Alps and Mediterranean coastline.

Their menu is inspired by French-Italian cuisine and offers a range of delicious options. Starting with smaller bites such as olives, chickpea fries and duck liver in the Apéros section. Next up is Plateux, which includes charcuterie and caviar. In Legumes, you can find braised artichoke, Swiss chard and seasonal mushrooms. Moving into the mains, there is a Marine section with dishes such as cod, salmon and mussels, as well as a Montagne area, which features pork chop, beef tenderloin and much more. They also offer soups and salads, and of course, pizzas and pastas.

Don't forget about dessert either––from butter pastries and orange zest confit, to sorbets and chocolates, you better save room for something sweet. Additionally, enjoy an expansive list of beverages available at Domaine MaMo.

The owner, Robert Prete, has been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. He has worked at both Grazie Ristorante and Coquine French bistro, and his commitment to hospitality is impeccable. Prete's travels and culinary adventures have inspired him to create a warm and hospitable atmosphere through Domaine MaMo, that leaves guests with lasting memories.

Master Chef Didier Leroy specializes in classic French cuisine. His artistic French cooking and techniques have helped him become a very well-known chef. Chef Didier was born and raised in France, and he has worked in a few of Paris’ best Michelin-starred restaurants.

Leroy has won several awards, such as the Medal of the Chevalier de l’ Ordre du Maître Agricole (Knight of Order of Agricultural Merit), has been inducted into the Master Chef Association of France (Maîtres Cuisiniers de France), and is a member of the Academie Culinaire de France.

The word restaurant means “food that restores," and with that being said, Leroy believes that restaurants play an important role in our lives. So in order to make these dining experiences extraordinary,  Leroy uses locally-sourced ingredients, artisanal traditions and strongly advocates for the farming community.

Domaine MaMo is located at 581 Mount Pleasant Road and their hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Future additions include a take-out menu, a "bring your own wine program" and weekend brunch.
