This noodle pop-up from beloved Toronto restaurant is located in an uptown coffee shop

Although Toronto has seen its fair share of unique collaborations between restaurants, an Asian noodle bar inside a coffee shop is high on the list of unexpected pairings. But as usual, our city is full of surprises, and a new partnership between DaiLo and HotBlack Coffee is making all of our eating and drinking dreams come true.

Starting late last week, the popular spot for modern, French-inspired Chinese fare has teamed up with the uptown coffee spot to bring a pop-up noodle experience every Thursday to Sunday, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. At the end of last year, DaiLo began offering weekly takeout from this location, where customers could get their hands on juicy Asian-style bao burgers and fried chicken wings to-go. The initiative proved to be a success, allowing the restaurant to continue serving their regular takeout menu from the home base at 503 College Street while also being able to serve fans on a different side of the city with their "North" iteration.

HotBlack Coffee has two locations, but their uptown home at 1993 Yonge Street sits just north of Davisville and is the spot where you can find the new menu of delicious DaiLo food for takeout. Touted as "the ultimate comfort food," the updated offering includes four different noodle dishes made for slurping and savouring. A pork and shrimp wonton soup is made with egg noodles and choy and the vegan Singapore noodles feature tofu scramble, barbecued plant-based protein, kale and carrots. The signature hand-pulled spicy lamb noodles were created and perfected by chef Nick Liu, with celery, grilled scapes and Sichuan oil. Liu is the owner and chef at DaiLo and is spreading joy the best way he knows how to during these tough times, by bringing hand-made, comforting and satisfying food to our city that is ideal for warming up during the dreary winter months.

You won't want to miss out on trying this menu of mouthwatering noodle dishes, so be sure to place your order this weekend for phenomenal takeaway comfort food. The food is available for delivery and pickup through Uber Eats and DoorDash, but be sure to search for DaiLo (not HotBlack) to find it! You can also drop into the coffee shop to place your to-go order.
