'PicSnic' is packing you the perfect picnic experience

Focus on getting outside more this spring by enjoying an unforgettable picnic from this Toronto company.

PicSnic is a one-of-a-kind, three-hour picnic dining experience designed to serve two people. The package includes a three-course meal and picnic supplies. They are currently offering three different menus that each serve two people and include one appetizer, two mains, two desserts and two drinks. The menus are curated to various audiences and allow you to choose from traditional, vegetarian or vegan courses.

The picnic equipment includes an extra-large waterproof blanket and a wicker picnic basket with cutlery, plates, napkins, salt and pepper shakers, a bottle opener, and glasses inside. The food and supplies are delivered to the park of your choice, which can be selected between either Cherry Beach, Christie Pits Park, Riverdale Park East or Trinity Bellwoods.

You will meet with a team member at the park of your choice and have a three hour window to enjoy the specially curated meal and the outdoors. When finished, you will meet with the team member again to drop off the equipment provided.

To ensure safety, all packages are thoroughly sanitized between uses. All of the food included is prepared in a licensed kitchen with updated COVID protocols––so you can feel safe throughout the experience.

Since their picnic experiences take place in nature, PicSnic values preservation and sustainability by using recyclable packaging and donating 5 per cent of their profits to the Wildlife Conservation Society Canada. Additionally, they are working towards creating an emission-free delivery system.

Founded this year by Eileen Taylor and Giuseppe Langella, the young couple developed PicSnic out of their desire to engage in more enjoyable activities during the global pandemic. These two entrepreneurs both come from an Italian background and are passionate about cuisine. They live by the term "Il Dolce far Niente," which is a saying that captures the pleasurable act of doing nothing. This idea ties into their business model of creating a relaxing experience that simply requires you to show up and savour your surroundings in a carefree manner.

Although PicSnic normally curates to parties of two, you can contact them about organizing larger parties or events, when deemed safe to do so.
