Scarborough's destination for comfort food opens at the World Food Market

Get ready to munch on comfort food galore at the World Food Market's newest addition; Munchies.

A Scarborough favourite for comfort classics and deep-fried sweets, Munchies has officially opened their second location Downtown Toronto in the World Food Market. Located at Yonge and Dundas, the market is a collection of unique vendors that offer a broad range of foods from all over the world.

Munchies brings all things indulgent to the market and with their wide selection of poutine, burgers, tacos, pizza, wings, mac and cheese, desserts and more, there is no doubt the most unrelenting cravings are bound to be satisfied.

One of their most popular items is their Munch Box which includes mac and cheese, curry ranch wings, bang bang shrimp and garlic bread.

They also have some sweet options, such as their McCain cake, Mars bar and Twinkies, which are all deep-fried!

Munchies was not always a hub for serving Torontonians the comfort food of their dreams. Initially, they started off as Yogis pizza restaurant, which was founded by Papa Yogi. When Papa Yogi's sons took over the business, they re-branded and created Munchies Toronto. This new venture was prompted when an opportunity arose to launch a pop-up shop for a local food festival. The name itself was inspired by those all-too-familiar cravings one gets post-session.

They opened their first location at 400 Sewells Road in Scarborough, but they are now making their downtown debut at 335 Yonge Street. They are also available for delivery on Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes.
