Selva launches outdoor heated dome dining for winter

If you thought patio season was over, think again! Selva has launched an outdoor heated dome dining experience on its patio for the winter season.

The experience is called Selvierno, which is Spanish for jungle winter, and fitting for Selva's multi-sensory art/resto/bar vibe, which features a wealth of animal and plant imagery throughout the space.

Selvierno's individually heated domes include plush pillows, blankets, cozy seating and a Joy Box—coined for its wealth of interactive card games, notepads for New Year’s resolutions or just a doodle, and even a BlueTooth speaker so guests can play their own tunes in each dome.

Selvierno's toasty warm domes even allow guests to take off their jackets and still be warm amidst the winter temperatures. Complete with three domes that seat four people each, it's best to book ahead to secure a spot.

"As with RendezViews, Selva and Fifth Social Club, we love creating original memorable experiences for our guests," says Oliver Geddes, Owner of Selva and Selvierno.

"Our wish for Seliverno is for it to become Toronto's outdoor winter dining destination where people get to enjoy Selva's menu in a unique setting with the Toronto skyline/CN Tower as a backdrop. The GRIPBlock's installations really make it an incredible atmosphere. Initial response has been fantastic and our reservations are very busy, so we encourage people to book early."

With fusion South American and Thai creations from Chef Nuit Regular of PAI, Kiin and sukhoTHAI, there are a range of must-try dishes on the menu at Selvierno. Visitors can order from the full menu at Selva, including the epic Seafood Journey, which includes a giant seafood tower and shrimp cocktail.

Speaking of cocktails (this time, the boozy kind), the team has created original signature cocktails inspired by the holiday season. These include the Sugar Cookie with rum and eggnog; the Spiked Apple Cider with rum and cider; and the Cranberry Kringle made with a base of bourbon.

Selvierno launched on December 15 and will continue throughout the full winter season. Selva and Selvierno are located at 221 Richmond Street West.
