Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sunspun elbow macaroni

  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

  • Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish and set aside.

  • Step 2

    In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water and then add the macaroni. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until it's al dente. Drain and set it aside.

  • Step 3

    In a bowl, combine the evaporated milk, beaten eggs, hot sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk the mixture until it's well combined.

  • Step 4

    In a large bowl, add the cooked macaroni, egg mixture and 2 cups of the cheese. Gently fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese mixture until the macaroni is evenly coated.

  • Step 5

    Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly using a spatula.

  • Step 6

    Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of the cheese evenly over the top.

  • Step 7

    Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 to 45 minutes, or until the macaroni pie is set and the top is golden brown.

  • Step 8

    Once the macaroni pie is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

    Cut into squares and enjoy!
